Ready to become a leader in the next generation of conservation activists?  We are ready to help!

STRP and its sister organizations offer a variety of internships--from part-time (20 hours), to summer, to full-time opportunities--across a spectrum of disciplines, including international campaigning, development and grant-writing, media management and watershed biology.  You get real, on-the-ground training from veteran campaigners who know the ropes of grassroots organization, press strategy, science-based activism and regulatory tools such as FOIA requests.

During your time with us, you are part of the team, with the chance to make real contributions to the future recovery of endangered species. Come join our intern program, and start on the path to a rewarding career in environmental activism!

Personal Intern Testimonials

"My time at STRP has been truly rewarding and far exceeded my expectations. I was taught something new everyday. All the professional skills and experiences I have acquired while working at STRP, will benefit me in any career. I am very grateful I was able to work with such a dedicated organization." Linsay Elam, UC Santa Cruz Marine Biology major, 2010.

"When I turned away from the podium, I paused for a moment and scanned the room.  Lined up behind me was an unending row of supporters for AB 376. Like others who have shown their support for the ban, I believe that I have to do my part ... I was honored to be part of this historic day." Ming Ong, Princeton graduate after testifying to ban shark fins (AB 376) in Sacramento, 2011.

"Although I have only worked here a few days I feel a lot of pride in the work that I am doing this summer. This summer promises to be full of life-changing experiences in which I will be able help protect an amazing and mysterious animal, the sea turtle!" Brittany Bartlett, University of Miami masters student, 2012.
